1. Introduction

Hops Technologies respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

This privacy policy sets out how we collect your personal information and what we will use it for. 

This privacy policy forms part of our Terms, accessible here. By using the Hops mobile application and/or our services, you agree to be bound by those Terms and this privacy policy.

2. What information we collect from you

In order to use the Hops mobile application and/or our services, you will be required to provide the following information:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • date of birth; and
  • live location.

The Hops application will request access to your live location. You can provide access to your live location whilst on the Hops application and receive the full functionality. Hops Technologies will only use your live location when performing the following functions:

  • determining your position on the geographical page;
  • calculating the distance to venues on the Hops application; and
  • filtering the deals to show you on the deals page on the Hops application.

Hops Technologies will not use or collect data from your live location, or any personal geographical information in any other way other than mentioned above. 

3. How we use your personal information 

We collect and use your personal information in order to:

  • provide our services to you; 
  • improve the services that we provide to you; 
  • market our services to you by contacting you electronically; 
  • respond to communications from you;
  • to protect or enforce our legal rights or comply with any legal obligations, including
  • under the Privacy Act 2020; and/or
  • for any other purpose that you authorise. 
4. Disclosing your personal information 

We may disclose your personal information:

  • to MySQL for the purposes of holding that personal information securely on our behalf;
  • if we are required to do so by law or regulation, to a legal authority or agency; and
  • to any other person authorised by you. 
5. Protecting your personal information 

We will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. 

If you want us to delete your personal information, please email us by clicking here and we will remove it.

6. Accessing and correcting your personal information 

You have the right under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 to request a copy of your personal information that we hold and/or ask for it to be corrected.
